To COURT! (UPDATED!)

Tue Jan 5, 2010, 8:12 AM
Jan 5th

New information was released on this guy.

He was at the same bar my father was the night of the murder. That means he got into his car and sped up to like 60MPH .1 miles away from where they both left. How crazy! This is proof that he was drinking that night, even if we can no longer get his blood alcohol level.

My family went to the court arraignment today. They moved the case from out of the Quincy, MA courts and into the Dedham, MA courts. I know the Dedham court from jury duty, it's kind of intimidating!

Tomorrow (the 5th) is the date of the court arraignment for my father's murderer. I'm feeling kind of anxious about this whole thing.

Why do I keep calling the guy a killer/murderer? Innocent until proven guilty, right? Well, there's something that seems really off about what has gone on in the past week or so.

The news reports on the day of the accident had neighbors come out and say that they heard a loud "BANG/THUD" from inside their homes. The guy claims he only put two and two together when he heard the story and checked his pick-up truck two days later. How is it that someone could hear a loud noise 50 feet away but this guy couldn't even feel a thump five feet away from his drivers seat?

The man never apologized for what had happened. "I'm sorry, it was an accident, I didn't know, my apologies to the victim's family" would have sufficed. We were ready to forgive the man, but again he has been acting really sketchy.

It'll have been 12 days since the accident when his court hearing takes place. That's enough time to hide all of his assets, isn't it? We have a feeling he's going to cheat his insurance company and say he has nothing so that we don't go after him.

All of this plus our assumption that he was drunk driving that night is changing our perspective on this guy. If he hadn't hit my dad he could have hit anybody, and this guy should be held responsible for his actions. I was so horrified back in April when I saw a dog get hit by a car and the driver sped off, knowing I was right there. Why do people go for their flight instincts when they know it'll only lead to more trouble? Can't these cowards stand up for once and admit they're sorry?

The district attorney has said more information has come out but cannot be released at this time. An advocate has been assigned to our family to help us out during the court arraignment. I'm definitely going to bring up the "Neighbors heard the noise, the driver didn't?" evidence to the advocate when we hear from him or her. I'll let ya know how this goes, but chances are it'll be in the news on Tuesday

To New Beginnings

Thu Dec 31, 2009, 6:15 PM
There's only three hours left in the year, and three hours left in the decade. What a year it has been! What a decade it has been!

After every loss we find ourselves mourning in some shape or form. Sometimes we never see hope for a future if we don't let go of the past. But it is time to let go of this year and look forward to the next. That's the beauty of life, we can always start over and nothing can take that away from us.
No matter what happens tomorrow will be brighter than today, even if the skies are cloudy and gray.

Here is to the new love we shall find, new friendships, future gains and the peace that comes with them. Here is to many more years of laughter, kindness, compassion, and good health. Here is to finding happiness within ourselves and spreading it to everyone. Here is to our spirits being raised high throughout the difficult times. Cheers to fruit punch! Here is to my friends, enemies, loved ones, and to the rest of the people I share this universe with every day. Here is to new beginnings.

Happy New Years!

The Wake

Wed Dec 30, 2009, 10:01 PM
Well, it's over. We had a wake/memorial service for my father yesterday starting around quarter to 4PM and it didn't end until 9PM. The turnout was amazing.

The line was out the door and into the streets for FIVE HOURS. Non-stop! I didn't know so many people loved my family, it was heartwarming.

Many people mistook me for being the youngest (and thought I was in high school) while complimenting me on my new haircut. My self esteem went through the roof, haha. I did my best to make everyone happy, and I guess I was really happy too. I really love hugs and I got a lot of them (and gave twice as more when people just wanted to shake hands) and ladies young and old kept kissing me on the cheek. So awesome! My uncle did it too, which was kinda creepy.

I also saw pictures of my father as a child, happy with his mother and just looking like a kid. When you've known an adult for your whole life you tend to forget that they were once kids too...and I don't know, maybe he was a different person back then. I just feel sorry for the way things turned out.

We had a little after party for three hours at my godmother's house. It was really nice. The party moved back to my place and I guess I'll join in for a while. It's been a crazy week.

Thanks again to everyone who sent their support, love ya all. I'm gonna post a New Years Eve journal later tonight, I have more stuff to say :<>

No more lasagna, PLEASE!

Mon Dec 28, 2009, 2:25 PM
I figured I'd take a break from the murder mystery and post some lighthearted news for a bit.

On Thursday we received many dinners from different families once they had heard the news about my father. Chicken broccoli zitti, meatballs, (if only the food was vegetarian friendly :<> ) penne covered in cheese, bread, cookies, and lasagna. Oh my god there is so much lasagna. Today more people have showed up with even MORE LASAGNA. AAAAAAH!

I wish Sandy Kaye were here. He's my one of my favorite professors and a very well respected author. He teaches at Harvard and quite a few other colleges. He also loves lasagna and convinced me to try it out a few years ago. I know that if we were in touch right now he'd gladly take the lasagna off of my hands, haha. (He is an amazing man! [link] )

My father's niece showed up the other day with her two kids. I haven't seen her in fourteen years. Things hadn't really changed much, back then I was playing Super Mario Bros on my NES and when she came into the room the other day I was playing New Super Mario Bros on my Wii. Her four year old son, Nick, came into the room and watched me play for a bit. He asked me if he could play and I gladly gave him a second Wiimote. It was really cute! He had no idea how to play for it was his first time playing a video game, ever. I recall being awesome at Super Mario Bros when I was his age, so it was kind of funny to see him just jumping in place for a bit not knowing what to do. I had Mario (me) pick Luigi (him) up and carry him around the level while he shot fireballs XD

OH GOD THERE IS STILL A LOT OF LASAGNA

---

I reread Universal Voyage three times recently. I cringed and laughed and cried while laughing. Ashi dancing with NW is in my top favorite moments, it's just so absurd. UV is no longer up on the main page of BnG apparently but you can find it at [link]

Here's a shoutout to both :iconpishi: and :icongeemer: who have been writing interesting stories lately!

---

I think that once this whole murder mystery is over I am going to take a vacation. It'd be fun to go on an adventure. Now that my father is gone I no longer have to worry about him trying to harass my younger sister. For nearly the past two years I've been sort of babysitting her to make sure he doesn't get to her, and now we're both free. Yay.

THERE IS STILL A LOT OF LASAGNA HERE!

Where is Garfield when you need him? I just wanna eat my fruits and veggies ;-;

Not a zombie...yet (UPDATED!)

Sun Dec 27, 2009, 7:03 PM
December 27th:

Latest information:

The suspect in the homicide case has had some of his personal life revealed. He recently lost his wife to cancer. One of his sons is a firefighter, and the other works for...the Quincy Police. The people investigating this crime. (Uh oh.)

The man was a former firefighter AND an EMT. It is possible that he was drunk and knew how long it would take for his blood alcohol level to drop, which is why he might have waited two days to turn himself into the police. My father however had just come from a bar so people can easily place the blame on him just being a drunk and stumbling into the street.

Meanwhile the Quincy police are claiming that they had notified us about all press releases before the news had reported them. They didn't. So now they're claiming it was the responsibility of my towns police, and that it was their fault. What?

Something really screwy is going on here!

December 27th:

Latest news:

The man who ran over my father was a 61 year old retired firefighter. He claims that he only put two and two together after hearing about the story and checking his own car for damage. He's currently speaking through his attorney and will have his court arraignment next month.

Something isn't quite right here. How do you not notice hitting a human being hard enough to send them flying and taking off your side mirror in the process? And even if you did notice and kept going anyway...you're a retired firefighter. You've been saving lives for years. Why didn't you stop and try to help this man? Were you really not aware that you hit a man, or are you trying to cover up something...or someone...?

Again, thanks for the support everyone. I wish I could buy you all gifts or something. I know I'm gonna be weeping at my wallet since I told some personal friends that I am going to be buying the rounds at the bars in the next few days, but ahahaha, it's worth it.

Notice how our family declined comment? (Also what is up with that "kind father" comment?! ahahah)

I really do appreciate all the well wishes, everyone. I'll be sure to let you know what comes of this in the next few weeks.

EDIT: Here is another article about his death: [link]

And if you google "Paul Moore hit and run" you can see the Boston Herald's folly. Thanks Google.
